Stop Action
The purpose of the Stop Action assignment is for students to become more familiar with their cameras and learn how to successfully freeze motion. Freezing motion is done by using a high shutter speed when shooting, this is because the camera captures all the information in a short burst of time instead of being captured over a long period of time. For this assignment Ember headed outside in attempts to capture the youthful play in snow that nearly everyone from the North can remember. Ember likes the first image because of the interesting angles and representation of motion presented by the falling snow and the subject's arm. The image almost creates an impression that the subjects hand is caught in a vortex of snow.
